大闸蟹

这一段日子，是吃大闸蟹的大好日子。9月吃雄的，10月吃雌的。我们吃一对! (right side is female, left side is male. male is always bigger than female) 老公的公司出外旅游的项目之一， 所以我也去了。阳澄湖大闸蟹！！（阳澄湖，1.5 hours drive from Shanghai, quite a nice place)

大闸蟹，此蟹非彼蟹。我们在吉隆坡吃的是海蟹。这个是湖蟹。大闸蟹的脚是毛毛的。活着的时候，还是金毛色的。很恶心。那个钳子，上面黑黑的一块，不要以为是seaweed，是它的毛！！！然后母的更恐怖，那个部位，开了，也是毛毛的，令我想到是我们的那个部位，立刻反胃。（i know i shouldn't... but i can't help it... it really look like our v... arrghhh).

我们承认我们不会欣赏大闸蟹。因为他们都吃得很开心，就我们几个（还有一个日本人，也是吃得很痛苦。哈哈！）吃得一脸的无奈。脚和钳子因为太小了（compare to our butter crab)，我们都吃不来。可是他们都吃的津津有味，脚也全干掉。厉害。

我的公司下2星期也会组团曲阳澄湖吃大闸蟹，I think I will say no but thank you to them.

Actually before the crab-eating sesssion, we went to a small town called 锦溪.quite beatiful. In such a narrow place, can allow 2 boats to pass through at the same time. Amazing eh?

Li. is the mkting mgr in R.E.Y. She is from China, but she also studied in KL for 2 years before. So we actually quite buddy (so far lah).
Jen is just an assistant to one of the brand in our company. Easily gun-cheong type.

Li was in meeting, she can't check email until like 8pm... so I have to tell Jen:

"Will revert first thing in the morning OK?"

Jen: "and the sponsor prize is dropped from 500 to 200 right? no more changes right?"
Me:"yes, last meeting, this was the conclusion."

opened my email, 3 emails from Li.

email no.1 -- "promo tag, besides $200 sponsor, we want to add gift-beg."

email no.2 -- "DM, logo, we want both english version and chinese version."

email no.3 -- "we want 3,500 pcs DM on 28-28th" (where as we can only spare 500...)

Jen almost faint when I fwd the email to her.

Jen:"shit, that means changing anohter round. 1 small change we have to do 3 rounds neh - promo tag, DM, and leaflet."

Me -- smile :) This is life. Do it whether u you like it or not.

Like it or not, we have to support R.E.Y. due to political reason. So, like it or not, we have to do it. So don't ah ji ah joh so much lah... u think I run the company meh?

Spring, where are you??

今年，中国入秋特别晚。都10月中旬了，还是可以穿短袖或无袖的。我一个月前买的秋装，还没有穿过，心里很郁闷。每天上班前都看着新衣但不能穿的心情你们懂吗？

听说今年可能一夜就入冬了。如果是这样的话，我的秋装怎么办呢？wooo.... woo... sob.

不过，天天28度的天气还真的很凉爽：）如果365天都是28度，就太好了。

R.E.Y.

Lately I am handling a project, REY (sorry, can't use real name... against policy. hahaah... kai xin, if you can guess... it's Wing's account). They are opening thier 1st store in Shanghai. And on their big opening in Dec, our big big big head in U.S. will also come and have a look, coz it is supposed to be most outstanding store in Asia for REY. And so, I slowly feel the pressure, coming from every where. People who know me will know I really don't give a shit of my job. But... as many Leo persons, I value my face (mian zi) and reputation more than the stuppid job. I can screw up the job, I don't care, but I cannot screw up my own face or reputation for screwing up on this project. Haha! Leo!!

Doing this project, let me get a valuable chance to understand in my company, who is the lazy type, who is the snake type, and who is the serious type.

I am just very confused, why the lazy and snake type also can be managers??

REY may be a pain the ass. But the lazy and snake type, especially in your own company, your own colleague, can be 10 times more than the pain in the ass.

Flowers are so cheap here. So, I bought a new vase, and I bought flowers last Friday, from an old ah ma near our neighborhood.

Each kuntum is only 80 cents (rmb), can you believe it? So cheap~~

The night I bought, I purposely put it onto the table, that you can't miss it when you come into the door. But, strangely enough.. my hubby missed it. Man....

If I am not mistaken, this flower is called gabriel.

A: "when are you going back to KL again?"
me: "CNY bah... depends whether got tickets."
(side track a bit, today I called MAS here to book ticket back, do you know the officer told me the tickets were fully booked since July? Wholly shit! that many malaysian in shanghai meh??? we are on waiting list, shit!)
A: "want to ask u help my son buy a few books. Not available in Shanghai, only available in KL.They are good books."
me: "..." (speechless... because I not willing to spend my holiday at Petaling Street 大众书局 just to dig his books, on CNY, on my personal time, and I don't like Mr. A at all, coz normally at office, he is a lazy worm, do nothing, and like to ask people to do his job)
me: "oh, in malaysia, CNY is a big thing too. Bookstore are closed for 1 whole week. I don't think can help you buy."

I lied. But well... is better to tell him, "fuck off, me ain't gonna help you buy books. Books, so heavy, I rather buy more 猪肉干 to bring back sh to eat."

I hate Mr. A. But I guess Mr.A does not know I hate him.

Hon, I think I fart again :|

This scene took place last night, at the living room.

hon: "bla bla bla... and then, I told the staff.. bla bla bla... the target for the quarter is 100K, bla bla bla.."
(he was excitedly telling me about his day at work..)

then.. he suddenly changed his expression from excited to shocked.

hon: "honey, you fart?!"

me -- innocently turned my face away from him, keep on watching tv. Trying to hold my laughter, i answered, "yes gua" (actually I not very sure.. )

hon: "oh my god~~~ it smelled!!"

me taking the pillow to hit him, and we laughed and then we were talking something else. And I got up to take some hot water. Then I smell something funny again... and I honestly told him, "hon, I think I fart again.. " (with a shy look, 不好意思 look)

hon:"..." (trying to hold his laughter, but after 3 seconds...)
hon: "no babe, this time is me." HAHAHAHAHAHAA...

hon: "where got people fart or not also don't know one? some more said 'hon, I think I fart again'. You damn funny lah. HAHAHAHA"

Another round of pillow fight was put on scene.

I was pretty negative lately. I think is not so much of the city here. This time, is the job...

Just for example (but it did happen):

I email A,B,C... for their comment on a design. Yeah, unfortunatly, my job nature is a bit like ah leng to these 3 nicest people on earth.

"Dear A, B, C,

Please have a look at the attachment. Please share your comment. If everything is fine, I will pass this to Mr. D to finalize on the 3D image."

A replied, “OK, except I don’t need that section x, can you please remove it?”
Me: “but I thought you want to communicate this message on every possible means?”
A: “yah, but this event is not important, so, can leave it out for this event.”

B: “why you use this image? It is not official to be out in market yet. Jenny never told you this?? Please use back the old one.”
Me: “but this is a permanent space Ji fought for us in departmental store. Will last until next year. The old image won’t look good after 2 months from now.”
B: “yah, but right now is still unofficial yet. Cannot use new image.”

C: “I don’t like that xyz hanged on the ceiling like that, and the logo, can you take out that 6 chinese words? and i don;t like to display demo in this store.”
Me: “…… (don't know what to say, coz she is the one insisted she wants the 6 words last time, and she is the one insisted demo in the store)“
C: “since it is gonna last til next year june, I would not want to have the same 6 chinese words for 8 months. I might not want to focus on these 6 words anymore. And the demo is not suitable, more demo we did, more hurt it did to our brand.”

Another example (and it also did happen):

me, "B, the project with ZD, we are gonna do this this this and this, and ballon color we will use ZD because is free, but different color, OK with u?"
B , "sure. (head not even tilt to give me a look, because she too happy to have her vacation soon) anyway, they are small player, don't worry, anything is fine."
--- after the project is carried out---
B email me from her vacation (I am surprised) after I emailed her the picture, "what? why the kid's drawing pictures is covering my brand image?? why there are only 1 table? we have 3 tables! and balloon, why different color???"
me, "there are 3 tables as what we agreed, but if you only look at one picture, you will only see 1, there other 2 is covered by people. and if you look at other pictures, you will add together to 3 tables. Balloon I alreayd informed you before, you said OK."

No wonder I am so restless these days.

I hate my job. No sense of ownership. I mean, fuck them, they suka suka said “I want this this this”. Suka suka changed mind, “I don’t want this this this anymore, take out.” A more classic one (I hate the most) is, they suka suka don't reply email. And when you were forced to give it a go signal because of time pressure, they will revert after you gao dim everything, said they not OK with this and that, and they want another change of the current version. Or, they take long leave, but still want you to wait for thier 'approval', but you know for sure if wait for them to revert (they dun check email when they on vacation), you gonna miss the deadline.

I am not a worm inside your bloody stomach, so can you guys stop asking me to coordinate your 3 bloody keep-changing opinion??!!! Aiyoh!

I hate it. I hate being a leng. I hate the fact that I am not less capable than these 3 people and yet, my every step in the project is depending on them!!! @#$$%! And these 3 people (1 is actually quite ok, she is A), are the most difficult person to face at work, all females not married!!!

I wish I can be like kai xin, just quit the job and do the stuff she enjoys doing.

From A to B, to C, to D...

My friend told me he is moving away from Holland to Australia, for career advancement. And Australia is just merely his 3rd stop.

It suddenly makes me think a lot.

Don’t u think that this generation is very “restless”, I can’t even tell where will I be in another 2 years. Life is so full of changes, and changing destination. Everyone is on the move, be it in Malaysia or outside Malaysia.

I looked at my parents generation, they seem to have their plan figured out nicely. Like, they can say something like this, “in another 5 years, I am gonna change my car”. Me? Another 5 years, I don’t even know if I will still live in a country that provokes me to have the thought of owning a car (definitely not in SH). In another 5 years, don’t even know where will I be, doing what…

But I do hope that Jay will finish his work here in China in another 2 years, max. I made him promised to me the other day. I told him my life-span won’t be long if I hari hari complaint about china this and china that. I know it is irritating to many others, but I just can’t help it. I can’t help to pretend I am happy everyday here. Well, on average, I am happy 1 out of 7 days, based on statistics.

After China, where will I be? I don't mind to go back to Malaysia:) I miss everything there. But I know my bui bui will be looking at somewhere else.

西塘一日游

First stop is at a place called 平湖市， we went to visit 莫氏的老房子。请看房子的floor plan，真大。

Second stop - lunch. We did not expect the trip fare includes lunch, and it was indeed not a bad lunch at all, 10 people per table (we have 47 people in the bus), and many many dishes (mostly vege though, but I don't mind, I love vege). Too bad I did not take the photo, i was busy eating. Oh, the restaurant is inside a hotel, and the toilet is damn clean!! and smells good!!! I was very happy:):) This place is at 嘉善. Clean city as well.Muaks!! I love it.

Then finally we arrived at XiTang. Beautiful old town, and surprisingly not crowded. Lots of small stalls, and they look very "nice" people, well, at least this is the first time I bought mineral water with just 2yuan from those stall, compared to many tourist place where we normally spent 5 yuan for the same brand of mineral water. Again, I am happy:) hehe..


They make buttons with this machine, from the pearl from the shell. Amazing.

The bird, can you see one stick on its neck? Apparently this is to avoid it swallow the fish they caught, so the fisherman can take it out from its throat when they fished. Very cruel. The fisherman asked for 5 yuan from us to demonstrate this. And bad us, we paid him to demonstrated this cruel act... yacks..


On our way back to shanghai, we were so tired, we slept through the 1 hour bus-ride. :)

Happy Festival??

I think if I am not mistaken, today is Mooncake Festival. We asked a cab driver while we were in his car on wednesday, "when is the zhong qiu jie?". He chuckled, "I am also not sure. Perhaps this friday? definitely not today though." I made a sarcastic comment, "so, people are rushing to buy the good-looking mooncake (not necessarily taste good... do you know last time they also have gold-stick hide inside the mooncake and they normally buy for important officer or important person? last year, the mooncake can cost up to RMB 10K, I heard), but they don't know when exactly is the real date. Very good."

Anyway, supposed it is today, I should feel at least peaceful if not happy right? It got spoiled by an stupid old freaking ah ma in the morning already!!!!!!! she came on board into the subway 1 station after mine. And bear in mind that today still a lot people not working, so the subway is not packed at all. But perhaps my forehead got the word "push me please... old or young, push me.", that old ah ma pushed me from where I was standing to a few foot steps away!!!! I cannot believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And when I was about to get out at my office station, she needs to get out as well. Again, from behind, she pushed me.

She is old, but she is definitely still very tip-top healthy to do what she did to me!!!!!!!

I am really freaking bloody fucking assing-hole sick of the people here!@#$!%@*#(&$!!! Ganiniah!!!!

Plant Exhibition

假期我们去了上海世纪公园的植物展。票价为35元。售票员面无表情，好像家里死人似的。sigh.. 上海...

进去了，才发现到地方真的很大，很多草草树木。走到半死，只见到中国的展览，国际的展览就只有几样。以下的Tea Pot就是国际的。

The sky turns dark even before 6pm, we still have not finished walking the whole park. Feel our money is cheated.. boooooohh.....

but overall, we quite enjoy ourselves over there. :) Good weather always make people feel good eh?:)

《夜宴》

有没有看过一套电影，看完了，还可以讲久久？《夜宴》就是。

这个星期二，我和老公做了一件事，是我们在上海做的第一件事--第一次到戏院看电影。我们其实也是挣扎了许久，早晨起身后，两人赖在床上，还在琢磨着应不应该看。不是钱的问题（虽然这里看戏确实很贵），而是我们很怕去看戏的人素质很差，比如在戏院里吸烟，讲电话，开口讲话大大声。后来，我们的conclusion 是，戏票这样贵，素质差的人恐怕也不会花钱看。而且为了确保没有万一，我们俩决定去high class 的地方看-- 新天地！哈哈。

果然，没有人在戏院喧嚷、卖票的小姐也有很好的态度、还有也没有人在戏院接电话。我们很欣慰。唯一一点吓倒我们的是，这样的“有露露”的成人电影，有父母竟然可以带4-5岁的小孩一起看。唉哉！

《夜宴》真的很好看！冯小刚，You did it again!!

我今天上班马上查看结局的真相。真的令我大掉眼镜！原来她是凶手？！！我和老公一直猜是太子。

不过那个网站也不是官方网站，所以那个人也可能是瞎猜。But he has got a point too.

螳螂捕蝉，麻雀在后---this is the conclusion I got after I saw the ending. Marvelous plot!!! But indeed, it is a very sad Love Story too...

至于章子仪，我其实不是很喜欢她本人的。但是，我必须公平的说一句，她在《夜宴》的演艺中是最好的！！在一分钟内，可以有几种不同的表情在脸上，真是一流--从悲哀，到愤怒，到快乐，到无奈，到hungry for power。真得很棒的演技！

还有戏里面的舞蹈、歌曲，也是很有意思的。舞蹈有一点趋向于日本式，但要表达的意境确实很“古典美”。这种组合真的不简单。

太棒了！我决定破例一次，这套电影，我会尝试去买正版的DVD收藏！

看完了电影，我们俩就过着游客的生活，在新天地吃了一个Brunch，那地方叫KABB，很好吃，天气又很好，我们坐在外面，看游客经过、拍照、走路。。。吃完了Brunch,我们马上hop去另一家店，吃Dessert,很好吃！！我们要了一份Chocolate French Cake， Fabulous!!! Coffee also tastes good! 一流！！那一家店叫La Maison. 很好吃！！

I love China National Day!! sorry... I mean, I love the holidays of China National Day!!! hahaha... hurray~~~

Braveheart

I flipped through TV channel last week and there is this channel that was showing Braveheart, since my bui bui that time not at home, and I very mou liu, so I watched. I normally don't fancy about this kinda history and ancient movie. Some more hou dei dei, this movie was translated into chinese. Imagine the men are wearing scotland dress and speaking chinese language.. Wo de Ma...

Dim but zi, I was sucked into this movie! Marvelous movie!!! So touching in many scenes. 美中不足, there is a solid 15 minutes of advertisement in every 45 minutes!! So, by 1.30am, it is still not over yet, and thus I give up. The next day have to work!

When bui bui came back, he said, "silly, i have this DVD in the drawer lah~~ u can finish watching the ending any time. It is a great movie, I watched it 3 times!". Then I started questinoning him, "3 times?? with whom? :)" (with a dangerous grin). Hahaha.... women... trouble-maker.

So last night I find time to finish the ending, I actually cried when he was screaming for "FREEDOM" even before he was going to be beheaded. Such a great hero!!!!

But I have 1 thing I don't like about him, since he die also holding his wife's punya hankerchief, why he slept with the enemy queen earlier? Why men can be like that one ah? WHy men can say they very very love the wife, but yet, they still can sleep with other women????

That part I don't think he is a good hero. I "pei! pei!" him! Hamsap Hero is no Hero man.. I was screaming at the screne, "How can you do that? Aren't you still love your wife??!!"

Anyway... i know kai xin will be yelling at me, "man, this movie is in 1995!! get a life, don't always watch old movie!!". Well, a good movie will always be good movie, even though it is 10 years old.. 20 years old... or 100 years old.

So, William Wallace / Mel Gibson, you might be a hero to Scotland, but you might not be 100% good man to your wife!!!! HMMPH!!!

This is one of the newest entertainment we recently found at home, 口角. Hahahaha... It all started with him sleeping at 9pm 2 days ago (due to jet lag) and me not happy about it.

Bla Bla Bla

Have you had some colleagues, position very high, but you seriously cannot see their contribution to the company -- never see they really work? And thus you wonder what's the justification on his post?

I have one. He is sitting next to me.

His at Manager level, but dunno what he does daily. At most make a few calls, chit chat, and go home at 6pm on the dot.

Oh, he is damn good at forwarding email to other people to get his work done. Brilliant.

And, I just found out he is a computer bak-chi, does not even know how to do print-screen.

And I think he 前世 is a singaporean, coz he damn kiah-su, whenever there is a company get together, he sure brings his son, never miss any event.

I think our Commercial Manager also know his irritating behavior. Incident is as follow: lately we have some free tickets giving out on F1, on 29th, 30th, and 1st. Oct 1st ticket, we mainly reserved for BIG clients, because these tickets are precious, and outside sell very expensive, and we should offer to BIG clients in the hope the clients will bring more business to us in the future. We all very sek-joh, took the 29th or 30th ticket. Only this stupid uncle sitting next to me, not only he thick face want to go on Oct 1st, he some more asked for anotehr free ticket to bring his son on Oct 1st. CM saw this and he made a comment to secretary, to ask her to tell him that is not possible. Damn siah-sui.

I am always finding things amazed in China. He is another "amazing" thing I see here -- thick face, lazy, and brings his son to attend all company function. Oh not only that, in our company funciton, we sure have lunch or dinner, he sure will order apple juice, orange juice, any expensive juice in the restaurant for his son. Like his son in his house will also drink only juice and no other liquid (bloody, I won't believe this is true loh).

The morning cleaning aunty work in our company also once made a comment, said she saw him taking samples from our company whenever he comes into office early.

Amusing man. Amusing behavior. Once again, I am amused.

Morning Helpless Sigh

Have I told you guys Jay's new office is at the same building as my office, coincidently?

Was pretty excited about this. Imagine... we can hold hand go to work, and hold hand going back to home:)

Today is Day #2, of him moving to new office here.

Oh his working hour is 8.30-5.30pm. With him being the boss, he would like to be in the office around 8am, just to have a fresh start of work daily. Mine is actually anytime, then just plus 9 hours. And I normally reach office at 9.15am.

Yesterday, because of leaving to office together with hubby, I reached office at 8.30am.

Today, he has a morning tel-con with U.S., so I have to leave the house at 7am, reach office at 7.30am. Woke up at 6.15am, slapping the alarm off 4 times after it started ringing since 5:55am.

My face was damn-cham.

No body fight for the elevator with us. It is just two of us taking the elevator, compared to always have to line up for elevator and when u go inside, is all packed like satin fish.

...... and for once, I am the first in the office, instead of the last one, or the last 2 ones.

FUNNY!!!!

I would very much like to hold hand going to office and returning home, but I think I will sacrifice this part for more beaty sleep. I hope he won't mind when I go back home later and tell him I will like to go to office separately. Haha...

But going to office separately means I cannot take the cab with him. He insisted morning have to take cab.

But after today's experience with cab, i think taking subway is much better. The cab driver impatient sighing noise, and his rude cutting lane action, and almost "kissed" other people's car action, and the jammed on the highway, made my heart beat 4 times faster than when I was taking subway.

I think I would rather pek with other subway taker, than taking cab in the morning.

Sigh... I just have this lousy feeling of 这样也不行，那样也不行 today.

OK! Made up my mind liao:
1) Jay can leave the house earlier without me
2) I will take the subway, no cab.

I will resume to be the old me. Ha!;)

hubby is back

My hubby is back:)

Friday night, he was knocking on our house door, I thought he would have arrived much later, so I ask with a trembling tone (I scared mah), "是谁？！是谁？！”My hubby then answered, "aiyoh.. it is me.. quickly open the door lah~" Hahaha.. damn funny:) Aiyah, who would expect he arrived 1 hour earlier than what he told me before? hehe..

Then, at night, I feel so difficult to fall into sleep, the snoring sound is back~~~ for the past many weeks, my sleeping environment is very quiet, but with him, it seems very noisy neh~~~ so.. I couldn't sleep very deeply 1st night.

Then becuase he has jetlag, he slept at 8.30am the second night, and woke up at 4am. And when he woke up, he felt bored, and was trying to wake me up also. So, I didn't sleep nicely for 2nd night too.

And 3rd night, have to wake up at 7am because of work lah...

So.. i wish he won't have to go to U.S. that often. Not only he has to adjust to jetlag, I also have to adjust to his existence at home. Hahahhaa...

屈指一算, I have been in Shanghai for 9 months already.

And I just realized I can understand shanghainese language around 50% nowadays, as compared to just 2% on day 1 here. Quite happy about it:)

I have long time ago already given up to learn speaking shanghainese language. If can understand 80% is already very good. I don't expect I can learn to speak:)

Lately, China government has discovered 12 products (including its magical whitening mask) has dangerous ingredient to human.

It was only 9 products discovered last week. Today, there is another 3 considered dangerous (I think because of their ignorant attitude of not wanting to recall the products and also not wanting to take down the products from shelf pissed off the china government).

市食药监局向“宝洁”通报对本地市场监督抽检SK-Ⅱ系列化妆品的结果为：SK-Ⅱ清透防晒乳液等12种产品中均含铬，其中五种还含有钕。较国家质监总局此前公布的9种“问题”产品，上海此次抽检出的含铬产品增加了3个品种：SK-Ⅱ护肤洁面霜、SK-Ⅱ活肤抗皱修护膜和SK-Ⅱ重点净白精华液。12种产品中检出的铬含量在0.18mg/kg至4.86mg/kg之间。根据我国《化妆品卫生标准》规定，化妆品中不能含有铬、钕等禁用物质。

I think, P&G is pretty screwed up this time. They created so many obstacle for the users here to get the refund, and also asked them to sign a very unfair agreemment, the content is :“此处理方案为本案例一次性终结处理”. Signing that contract while you getting the refund, means that SK-II 经营者免除了自身的责任、排除了消费者今后求得损失赔偿的权利.

If you using SK-II, check with the counter whether it is from the same batch as the China products (heard it was manufactured in Japan?). Get refund if possible, don't use your face to 赌博。

I wonder if my beloved Dior product has dangerous material inside also?? .....

礼仪调查结果

I am VERY happy to notice that even the local people recognized this BIG problem. I read this on 时代报 today:

“文明走路、文明行车”公认为最需培养的礼仪

本报讯（叶芳）市妇联儿童和家庭工作部昨天公布的“上海市市民礼仪网上调查”显示，“文明走路、文明行车”被公认为当前最需要培养的礼仪，而“随地吐痰、乱扔杂物、在公共场合吸烟”被视为最让人讨厌的不文明行为。

They miss one point though “随时随地不排队！”也是最让人讨厌的不文明行为。

Or... even the local people does not think this is a problem?

Manicure

Yesterday afternoon, I was so bored at work, could have snake out gone home (coz bosses not around), but because of a stupid email I have to get from distributor in order to make decision(and thanks to their efficiency..), I have to stay around office, with nothing much on hand to do.

So, I have a brilliant thought, go down to 4th floor to do manicure!!! hahaha..

It only took me 2 minutes to grab my wallet and went down (same building as my office) after the first thought arise in my head. haha..

I chose a purple color, even though the girl recommended me pink. BUt I regretted today, looking at that purple color, I feel sick. I should have listend to her and get the pink! Damn it!!!!

But the feeling is great~~ sometimes you just need to pamper yourself;)

The feeling of doing this during working hour is even greater!! haha.. it only used up 1 hour anyway.

Natural Disaster

Only late, I get to fully understand about the "external forces" that we once studied on text book, on economic and finance courses.

Government here, suddenly shouted a new rule (to be carried out June 1, 2007), called it 3C, for our range of products. Of course, sword always come in 2 edge - advantage is, all the tikus pasar malam players will be swamped dead; disadvantage is, we need to entertain their tests, fly their auditors to all our kilangs in the world to review the process, and each SKU of our products need to be tested, so there are fixed cost and variable cost, and we have total 300 ++ sku this year -- all these need $$$$. Best of all, there is no clear rules as yet now.

Our country manager, termed this as "natural disaster", something like 911, create damages in no time, and can't be avoided.

Our company is lobbying in U.S. now. Don't know got use or not. But well.. government seems kinda irrational to come out of this rule. Just like they implemented the VAT in 1992 (I think..) within 1 month time. Gou Li!

Of course, this kinda "natural disaster" will not hurt us at the end, they will only hurt the local consumer of our products. We estimated that each of our products might need to price increase by at least 10%. Gou li!

We also laughing at our own joke -- perhaps in no time, we have to change our strategy to become really FMCG style - mass-selling 1 type of products, just different in volume or packaging. Simple, and make money! haha.

Subway scene #2 - 我用鼻子跺死你!

There are just way too many 'exciting' scenes happening on subway. I can't help to record it down. So, today is number 2.

Man 1: "慢一点啊你，行不行？还没有到站。”
Man 1 is talking loudly to Man 2 in a Beijing tone, because Man 2 is pushing rudely to reach the door, as many of the passsengers here do. They are just too afraid they cannot get off that station on time. And while they pushed to reach the door, they always don't care about other passengers.

Man 2: "他妈的，你唠叨什么？！有种你就跟我一块儿下来！”

Man 2 was talking rudely just when he was boarding at that station.

Man 1: "你有种就不要下车，我用鼻子跺死你！你他妈的！”

I was laughing out loud (actually, more like chuckled), not because they were about to fight， but because of that phrase 我用鼻子跺死你. that is so funny!!! And it is the best civilized scolding phrase I have ever heard.

Bad evening...

I was really having a bad evening last night.

Because of hari-hari 9am meeting this week, I was having a very fatique body condition yesterday after work. So I decided to take a cab home.

Happily sat in the cab, reached home within 20 minutes, clean, no pushing, and quiet ride. Opened the house door, and I reached for my cell just to check sms as usual.

CAN"T FIND MY CELL!!!

I panicked. I left on my office working desk, unattended. And we have a cleaning ah-yee to clean the office everyday at 7am. I don't want to be "small man" (小人）but I really afraid she will take it, because I remembered I put it at a very easy-looking place!! My whole KL connections and SH connections and some of my banking security stuff are all inside my cell!!! And best of all is, I can't even remember any of my colleague's number, so I cannot call them up to check whether they are still in office and if they are, they can help me keep it in the drawer first. I cant even remember their office extension number!

Left with no choice, I took another cab back to office. THe feeling is damn silly, take cab back & forth from office to home, home to office within 30 minutes time. SIGH!!!

Luckily found the cell lying neatly on my desk when I reached here (不幸中的大幸）

After that, I took subway home. Yah, subway..

Reached home, took shower, is already 8.30pm. After cook (I have to cook, coz I defrost the chicken wings for 2 days liao. If still not cooking it, it will spoiled), it is already 9.15pm. THe feeling is damn 凄凉~~~

I miss my hubby...:( luckily only another 7 days before he comes back home.

(Lesson Learnt: I will go buy a small booklet, copied all the important stuff with hand written numbers on taht booklet, and keep it in my house. I cannot be 100% depending on my handphone anymore. Too dangerous! All the personal data is in that small machine. Losing it is more cham than losing money!)

大大老板来上海

今天早上，我们的大大老板(鬼佬）会来上海的办公室。昨天我们的大老板已经多次提醒我们要准时上班（平时，我们有时会迟到，他也不会很在意）。

为了这事，我已经紧张了好几天。我很怕我会迟到啊！我平时都是9点一刻才到公司的。今天要我9点以前到，无名的压力，只有我才知道。

今天，老早就起身了，因为紧张，没有时间做我每一天早上必做的事情，心里很不愉快。唠叨地拖着脚步来到公司，还有一些睡意。所以当大老板领着大大老板来我的座位say hi的时候，我也blur-blur的。叫错大大老板的名字！（把他叫成大老板的名字！）后来我恁了一下，紧张之下竟然想不起大大老板的名字！不过幸好我转得快，所以还是“补”回来了。

还没有清醒，又被大老板叫到会议室，一起和大大老板go through 一些powerpoint, 也go through 一些我做的competitor analysis, 没有想到看似简单的report, 大大老板竟然很欣赏，频频说Good Job!听到我爽爽，睡意全没了。哈哈~~

爽过了，但想到今天早上没有时间做的那一件事，又有一点不爽了。讨厌！大牺牲！

嫁入豪门

最近在看一本小说，《嫁入豪门〉，是一个上海女人写的。

里面剧情很娱乐性。也有真实性，比如她说上海女人是如何的犀利、尖酸刻薄、但爱面子。但很多是很搞笑的部分，比如她妈妈如何用花瓶来比喻女人的贞操，并用此来警惕自己的女儿，要嫁入豪门，就要保全身体的“完整”。但也有的部分很耐人寻味，如，她遇到一个很谈得来的老头，他竟然在她的一个生日里，送了一个四合院给她。

还没看完，但很期待看到结局是如何的。到底这个妈妈有没有成功的将自己的女儿嫁入豪门呢？

估计这个星期可以知道答案；）

9-11 2001

It is hard to believe that it has been 5 years. 5 years, is such a long time.

On the very same year, I was damn hurt by a stupid ex. I guess he was too young to be faithful to one girl. There were so many tearful nights on the same year. I forgot how did I put through those nights & days, and I am glad that there is no rewind in our life. If you have never been betrayed, you won't know how bad was the feeling. Took a long while to recover.

Today, is the first time I feel sympathize at cheena orang.
Story starts over a lunch conversation:

While we were happily eating our wai-mai at the conference room, the bitch we hated most walked in and sat down. While we always address her as bitch, we still have to 'entertain' her a bit.. colleague mah...

Cyn: "hey Jud, you looked tired and 憔悴,are you OK?" (though all of us really dun give a shit if she is gonna take sick leave or what)
Jud: "I woke up at 6am today!" (this bitch, always start coming to work after 10.30am， so it is really a surprise for us she woke up at 6am)
Cyn: "why?"
Jud: "Have to apply for germany visa for my personal vacation, attended the interview, they think i fake my agenda and hotel booking, throw my document out and say "NEXT!"" (i tell u, this bitch, why we called her bitch, because this kinda sia sui thing, she also can say it as if telling a story that concerns other people, not her)

then only i get to know that it is damn difficult for cheena orang to apply U.S. visa, Germany Visa, basically any western or european visa, if they are not on business trip, and if they are females (scared they go to do gok-gok-gai I think, which 90% of the time, they do!)

FOr instance this germany tourist visa, apparently to apply it, cheena orang need to provide credit card statements, bank statements, salary prove, hotel booking confirmation number, your daily agenda and which hotel you will be staying, your flight details, your local trasport detail (if u gonna take train..)etc etc. THey really scared people go into their big land and disappear and be gok gok gai forever on their land.

after feeling 2 seconds sympathy, I said "抵死”, in my heart of course, haha... and they think they very rich and very welcomed at other foreign countries. Me pei!

Fug

Just yesterday evening, and today's morning, on the pedestrian bridge near my house area, I almost kena people's spit!!!!!!!

1st incident:
An ah po walking in front of me, she spit suddenly, and her spit fly to the side, and as I walking forward, it almost landed on my shoes.

2nd incident:
A 30 year old man, walking, also suddenly spit. Before I can take precautious action, the spit already landed next to my right feet. If I walk a bit senget by 5 degree, it will land on my right feet exactly.

I love eating jiao zi. Made me think of last time we whole family in KL making jiao zi. My dad sweat so much while making the dough, i worried so much his sweat will dropped into the flour... hehehe... my dad can make good jiao zi too:)

A scene on subway this morning

This morning, as soon as I stepped into the subway, I overheard, 2 carts away (yes, shanghainese can really speak loud), 2 women were arguing.

Woman A: "Why can't you just line up?!"
Woman B: "Which eyes you see I don't line up? And you think this is pasar? Need to line up properly is it?"
Woman A: "Why can't you be rational a bit? Line up!"
Woman B" "You are weird."

Then... a man, 看不过眼, speak up.

Guy: "Can you two just shut up? everyone is listening to your conversation. And you! (he mean woman B), everyone also don't know about you two, but we all think that she has got a point. Why you don't line up and still can act like you were being bullied?"

The guy speaks in a beijing tone.

Woman B: "I don't understand why you northern people discriminate us shanghainese."

I was pretty amazed by how Woman B can turn the argument totally 180 degree around. From herself being wrong in the first place, now she mentioned that people discriminate her because she is shanghainese. gou li!!! Lulu my lawyer friend, you might want to consider hire her to work for you.

I am just totally amazed this morning.

我成了游客！：）

最近，有幸有位朋友路过上海，在我小舍住上几天。她因为长久埋头工作（在北京1个月），从未在北京享受过血拼的美好滋味，来到上海后，疯狂的和我及她的朋友们不分昼夜的血拼。可能有一点夸张，但是，就在前天，我们真的从下午3点（当日温度为37度！）在瑞金一路一直逛到晚上10.30! 两人大包小袋的打的回家，手也疼，脚也麻（虽然已有自知之明脚穿平底鞋）。

昨天，我们晚上去了黄浦江的The Bund，一边聊天，一边观看中山东一路的古老建筑物，很古典，很难想象就在上海有这一块这样有韵味的地段。其实我俩来这里已不是第一次了，但是昨晚不懂为什么特别感觉兴奋，还拍照。哈哈。过后实在太热，我们就去了南京东路逛一逛。第一站，是和平饭店。真的是古色古香。连钟也是古旧的。看得我们好兴奋。后来还看到饭店里面有书店，里面卖了好多上海的历史书，还有postcard。哦，原来中国寄postcard到外地，邮费是5.60!好贵！！我朋友买了6张邮票，1本postcard，不过我想她应该是没有时间寄。时间都用在血拼上，哪有时间写信呢？：）哈！我本来想在那酒店拍个照，但听说这家酒店真的太老旧了，有一些鬼故事传出来，怕怕，所以没有拍。今天来公司查google，才知道那饭店竟然是5星的。里面还有Jazz，下一次可以跟老公来浪漫浪漫一下。哈！

第2站是旗袍店。她看中了几件，也蛮想买的，而且我们的buying signal已经强到不可以再强了，竟然没有人来招呼我们。Lurn Si to the max I tell u...我们就“不勉强”这一班废才，离开这一家店，去到另一家店。

第3家店，卖雨伞的，他妈的，一把小伞要卖到近300块。

第4家店，卖scarf。我们俩在里面一直围这个围那个，还学了几招围巾围法。好快活。哈哈。最后，我们俩买了同一款的围巾，但不同颜色。那时，已经10.45了。本来打算坐地铁回家，也不行了。只好打的。

总的来说，我朋友这一次的上海之游，真的是把我也弄成一个游客的感觉，陪着她挥霍金钱在血拼上...这种感觉，好像自己也在旅游哦~~~嘻嘻！

"Flamingo" memory

Read lulu's blog recently, about how is the school "culture" at this era, and how xin-ku it is to be a good teacher, like our friend ru xuan.

I had a flash back.

I was 9, at primary school. And it is about an assignment for an Art class.

I wasn't a good artist in drawing since I was a kid. But anyway..

I remembered for that class, I took home and drew flamingo, there were about 10 in that piece. I put up lots of effort for that piece of drawing. Day and night, I was obsessed with the drawing of flamingo. I handed in the assignment proudly, thinking this time I will not just get C anymore. Should be A or worst B+.

When the teacher finished marking, she called the students to come take the assignment. After everyone has gotten theirs, but not me, the teached said, "luo dai si，你到我这边来一下，其他人你们做自己的东西。”

I thought my piece was very great, that she wanted to compliment me gou li gou li at her place.

But what the teacher said gave me a shock, "who drew this for u? Your mama? Next time I will not take this kinda work anymore. It must be from your own work ok. This time I will just warn you."

Me, being a very quiet person that time, can only bow down my head, with tears in my eyes... (if now I got bully like this, I will gou li gou li fug gao that person!)

I still remmeber that time I was very sad, until I went home and cry gou li gou li in front of my mama. I just cannot understand why the teacher did not believe I drew those flamingo by myself. Why?

My mama see me so sad, she also very upset. But she did not say anything more. She just wrote a letter, and asked me to bring to that teacher tomorrow.

I can't remember what's that letter about. But I remember it was very short, very formal kind, and yet inside there is one important fact - my daughter drew this piece all by herself.

THe next day, after the teacher read the letter, she just said to me, "aiyah, i was joking with u only... why u really go tell your mama ah?" She gave my flamingo piece a B++ that time. I still remmeber how that "B++" looks like, until today. It was a hard print memory. (in fact, it was the only piece I got B++, haha..)

Actually, now I am already 30, think back this incident that was happened 21 years ago, I still have a heart-ache feeling. It's the uncomfortable feeling, it is like someone mistaken u for stolen things. And I still remember that piece of work, I really drew it with my own hands, and color it with my own hands too.

So, I do hope the teachers, before they scold any students, do have proofs first. Don't simply accuse them. It will leave unwashable mark in their life forever.

Having said that, the parents nowadays also no need to be so protective. Just do the appropriate thing. Like my mama, she did not jump at that time and storm the school to scold that teacher the next day. She just 心平气和 wrote that letter to remind the teacher. I think this is the correct way. Parents nowadays, on the other hand, are just too gun cheong about how the teacher treats their kids... ng sai gum yong geh, teacher also got a lot of good ones. And, at their way of protecting their kids, they will produce whole bunch of "strawberry" kids in no time.

Flamingo, a bird that every time I saw in Zoo or on TV, will bring back this "sour" memory.

Some memory is really undo-able.

BIG bully small

Big Guys: "I am opening my first store in your lousy land. I don't care. You player each chip in USD$100K for my A&P fund. Player B and C already agreed so. You Player A, so big in the state, can't be saying no right?!"

small guy say to his business partner: "due to political reason, we need to do this business no matter what."

small guy call the Big Guy: "our big boss will talk to your big boss, decision lies on their hand."

It is indeed quite interesting to see this happening everywhere. China, U.S., Malaysia... all the same game and rules.

Big Guy will open its store no matter what the small guys or the small guy's punya partner think or do, OK? Decision is made based on political reason, which I am very puzzled what do they mean by that. HA!:)

A morning battle with a pair of green bugs

Last night, I discovered a green bug (甲虫）resting neatly on a towel I hanged outside the balcony (I washed the towel and it did not get dry for 1 day..).

I hate bugs. To be more precise, I scared of them.

But I calm myself down, and ignore it, and close the balcony door tight tight. ALthough last night I don't have to turn on AC since temperature is dropped to 28 at night time, I chose to turn it on nevertheless, for my protection sake.

I checked on it before I go to bed at 11.45pm, it was still there. Kanasai!

Then this morning, first thing after I opened my eyes, I thought of that stupid bug. I was acting like a crazy woman, immediately get off the bed, and storm to the balcony and through the glass, I saw IT WAS STILL THERE!!!!

This time, I was rather angry than scared. I opened the balcony door, use the long umbrella to duk it!

It dropped onto the floor. I screamed. I thought it will fly. But it did not, it just lay there still.

Me, still feeling extremely angry (how can it nest on my towel for so long?!!), use my slipper to slap it. Its body over-turned after the slap, and it was like the cockroach, kept wiggling its ugly feet, trying to get its feet onto the floor again. I just ignored it, take the towel back to the house, and shut the balcony door tight.

Then when I 抖 the towel in my living room (trying to get the dirty dirt from the bug out from the towel), to my surprise, another same type of green bug, bigger one still, dropped onto the floor!!! I screamed uncontrollably, "AH!!!!!!!!!!" (my neighbor must be thinking what's happening??), then realized that during the "dropping" process, it unexpectedly over turn its body too. But this bigger bug seems to have a lot more strength and can anytime over-turn its body onto the ground again. I cann't take the chance!!!

I frantically searched for the "baygon" stuff, sprayed on it. Its feet stopped wiggling..

I scared not enough, so I sprayed 5 more times.

I brushed teeth, had coffee and breakfast after that... thinking.. could they be husband and wife? I just killed a husband and wife bugs... oh dear...

But I really hate bugs. And I gave them a chance to fly away the whole night. Why didn't they do so?!

Stupid bugs, made me late for work also.

Have to make sure they really die (i.e.not moving) later tonite when I go back. Thinking about this, made me gun cheong. What if I can't find them anymore after I got back? What if the one inside the house got up and hide somewhere??

DELL Battery Recall

Our whole Asia offices' staffs are using DELL laptop and desktop.

So after a bit hoo haa, we checked the battery of our laptop -- made in Korea.

We are safe. Only specific models, which is made in Japan or China is under recalled.

Still remembered there is one time when I was in Chengdu, I did not shut down the laptop properly (last session of training that time, so I a bit excited, and can't wait to shut down immediately, haha), and then I suddenly realized the laptop bag was very hot!!! I was so scared it will burt.

Then yesterday, my GM also told me he has a similar experience. He almost threw his laptop out from taxi that time after he smelled some burning smell coming from his laptop bag. Haha, so funny.

But, having said that, maybe it's a fact that if you don't shut down your laptop properly, the battery will be over-run and over-heat regardless of what brand of laptop you are having.

Anyway, RECALL is a very irritating process. It's a sensitive word. Reporters of newspapers, Editors of magazines will find all ways to report your recall news, and try to create any negative images.

Superman!

My hubby and my nephews were very crazy about superman.

I really miss them very much. The youngest one just learnt how to walk, he can't really balance his head and his butt yet when he was walking (because he is kinda big size I think.. too big size to balance properly. hahaha), but he sure knows superman ok. He and his older brother were fighting for that 30" superman figurine. Funny.

The kids dad already bought them the little superman figure that was made in china punya, the voice from the toy is too loud for the kid, and it kept saying "Fire! Fire! Fire!" followed by a series of stupid gun-shot sound. very irritating.

I am now waiting for the "Cars" to be on cinema in China (yah, for some reason, it is very slow to go on air over here). Haven't got a chance to watch it. Heard it is damn good. I think Cars toys will be sold through in China crazily too... I love it. I already making the McQueen Car as my wall-paper:)

38 degree celcius!!

According to the BBC weather forecast for the today and the next 4 days, only 1 conclusion:

Shanghai is damn HOT!!!!!

Today is 38 degree celcius, but I think it had hit 40. So bloody stuffy and hot out there.

I sure hope the weather forecast is very correct. At least tomorrow onwards will drop 3 degrees to 35 celcius. Not the best weather, but, 38 and above is too 过分！

Last 2 weeks

Am back.
Don't think you guys can understand how sum-ngup I was when I replaces the 017 sim card with the china mobile sim card at the airport. The feeling was simply undescribable. Sigh.

Anyway, haven't got a chance to really blog today. But what the hack, I will bring back my work to do at home, but I will blog a while now. Hahaha... (since I can't blog at home anyway, thanks to the china server).

Met up with kai xin, fenni, and maylin. So happy to see them, and they are as hilarious as before. Hahaha... fenni, you still look great even though you have your little "uncle" liao. Good Job!:) And Kai Xin, thanks for your photo frame. I will put one of my wedding picture in it. Too bad no time to catch up with you again before I left, really no time. You come to China look for me next time lah. and thanks to May lin for her great help in getting me the superman 30" figure!!:p My niece loves it.

Then met up with Wei Wei and Ah Kun for bakuteh at Klang. Have you heard of "bakuteh hop"? We did it on that night. We finished one bakuteh at a store (with soup), then hopped to the next store with dry bakuteh just across the street. There was this china woman trying to sell us the china vcd, saw us at two stores, she was so surprised, and we were a bit pai seh too, coz she said, "you guys really know how to eat huh". haha... great time.

Then I also find time to go down to Singapore (after Muar) to meet up with my uncle and his daughters and my aunt. hehehe... and had neo-print too. But too bad, I forgot where I put those neo-print now. How ah? And met up with my ex-colleague Lily, she looks even more gorgeous after being single for the last few months. I sincerely hope she find the right guy soon. Sigh... anyway, she is still very young and energetic and pretty;)She said she might come to Shanghai to work, I was so excited about this news.

Oh, got stopped at Singapore custom, coz they said my roadtax had expired, so the car card cannot go through. I was sweating!! the roadtax actually was already renewed in June, but my sister forgot to put it up on this car.. Luckily they let us go in. Must be a good day, coz the next day they having National Day Celebration. Perhaps they are being nice just because of this? scary experience though~~~ I was nagging in the car like a freakout woman, but Jay was so calm, he said don't panic lah. Luckily we both have different characters - me being the gun cheong type, he being the calm type. Actually, at the end, we untung, coz the SG woman renew our singapore car-card, so i have the S$2.80 balance again, and 10 free days to go in again. hehehe... anyway.. it is quite an experience.

Met Jay's buddies in Muar too, had 2 times BBQ, 1 durian session, few otak-otak sessions, and 大包 and nasi lemak and bakuteh and the thus the 报应 is, got pimples all over my face. Sigh.

Then met up with my anotehr good fren that sent us to airport in January. and offered many help in between. Happy for him that he just opened a massage center at Maluri. Keep up the good work!!!

And then, my high school friends, lulu, wen-san, steve, ruxuan, we had a great late night chat, from pregnancy, to high school teachers, to strawberry-kids, to Blue Ocean Strategy (Chapter 1, haha!!), and to lulu's column at the zhongguobao, and wen-san's china experience do ease my pain too, haha. Oh.. you guys are just getting mroe and more interesting lah!!;)

then lastly, met up with my anotehr ex-colleague chuey hwye, who just spent 5 days at langkawi!! haha... she wanted to come to SH for holiday, but after hear I bitch so much, she is having second thought now. aiyoh... just come lah, won't hurt being a tourist here. Will kanasai a bit only when u have to live through everyday here.

Then before I get onto the plane coming back, I had my 30th BD cake and meal with my family. It was kinda mixed feeling blowing at the 3 big candles. Shit! 3 big candles!30 years old already!!!!

Overall, I am glad that everyone is getting very well back home. Hope to go home more frequent (but no more for this year liao coz I just spent all annual leaves this trip, sigh).

And one lesson learnt, should have contacted my high school buddies as soon as I got back. If I did that this round, I won't have missed Yee Ling and Lizzie and Sheau Huey. Sorry girls... sob sob. I did not know Yee Ling is at KL til Aug 5, did not know Sheau Huey would be at KL when I go down to Singapore (thought of giving her a surprise tim ah..) and I return to KL she is on the way back to SG, and did not realize Lizz has left to US for her work. I got all the schedule messed up.
