A bit defficult for me to say "I Love You" to my dad, em..may be of Asian mentality. But I give him in kind to express my care and love to him, like buy him sport shoes, shirt, watches, take him to Cuti Cuti Malaysia. I think he knows I love him, that's my way.
Our family is a bit strange I guess, we can hug our dad's big tummy even in the public without feeling shy, and tell him we love him looking at his eyes, and kiss him on his cheeks:)
But I can be very extreme too, like ignore him for few days because he gek me. Me and him actually share the same characteristics, we both very hot temper, and yet easily forgot what we said (words which might hurt people for very long time)... bad daughter..
When I watched this movie about half a year ago, I have made this conclusion : Chinese directors, are at the top form if they do dramas that examine multiple facets of humanity.
Sure, they can explore martial art movies, or do some fantasy stuff like Wu Ji, but these are just futile attempts that lead no nowhere, finacianlly or professionally.
I hope this movie will persuade all chinese directors to forget about CGI (Computer Graphics), and focus on a good story-telling.
Steve, you forgot one thing: money. I myself won't watch a movie just for good story telling, at least won't pay to. These directors *need to* make some crap to survive, it's just that sometimes their crap also don't make money.
Deisy, ichiban (一番) means "the most". It always disturbs me when somebody just uses 一番 alone without an ensuing adjective.
Kim san、the 一番 I know is mostly used as an adverb, see examples. When used to mean "first", I only know it means "first" in terms of order, e.g. これが今までに振ったうちで一番の大雪だ。
