Sayorana. Please don't come back.

Today is someone's last day.

I was quite relief over this outcome. She is someone you won't feel comfortable being with, because she is very self-centered, and ignored all other people's feeling by giving some comment that she thinks it is 100% correct. Such as, "which is the tv MC you liked most?" me, "Ms A". "What? She? She no taste one la.." ........ hey, if everyone like what you like, then there will be only one tv MC in this whole blardy world ok??!! Nia sing!

So, she is leaving. I am glad.

In fact, I don't think she did a good job at her work at all. But boss hired her, must be for some real good reason.

Cheena? Chinese?

Read my friend's blog, and can feel he is very angry that some oversea chinese (like me?) is calling China Chinese as cheena, or cheenaman.

I wanted to debate with him, but I decided why waste my gas. The more I work in corporate world, the more I come to realize EVERY individual has DIFFERENT thinking, ALL the time.

Some people think cheena is related to Japanese time in China last time, where they mockingly called the chinese as cheena, 支那人.

I can tell you whenever I called them cheena, it's not related to Japanese or whatever. But, mocking, yes. I called them cheena because I feel calling them chinese is unfair, because chinese is a very general term, and it includes every chinese, including malaysian chinese, singapore chinese, indonesian chinese, american chinese and so on & so on. When you see "cheena" in my text, it simply means I am refering to the irritating bunch of chinese in china, normally this includes rude people, spitting people, people who pushed people around in a wide area public place, people who argued in public place in high pitched tone, people who give you dead-man-face when you just asking them simple question, people who don't line up and love to push around, and last but not least, people who smoke in public or restaurant ignoring there are pregnant women, kids, or old people around them who will not benefit from being a 2nd-hand smoker.

That's my definition of "cheena"!

Age

Today's news:
"...average person can live up to 73 years old for male, and 78 years old for female."

Also, today's news:
"2007年上海户籍劳动年龄人口相比上年减少5.24万人,15~59岁劳动年龄段人口首次出现负增长。上海成为中国第一个出现劳动人口负增长的城市。

进入「十一五」以来,上海老年人口以平均每年逾十万的速度增加,上海正「快步走入」老龄社会。统计显示,截至2007年12月31日,上海60岁及以上老年人口达268.83万人,占上海户籍总人口的比重首次超过1/5。"

I can understand the second point. But the first point where guys get to live til 73 is puzzling me super big time. I mean, 95% (or more) men smoke in China, how come they still live that long?? Are you kidding me???

My rationale:
1) The news is wrong. Facts are wrong. Number is taken from sky.
2) Maybe the tea and/or alcohol helps. Tea + Alcohol (57% type some more) + Cigarrette can prolong age-span! If I am a medical students thinking of a thesis to write at final year, this topic will seem interesting!

(yes yes yes... I still whinning about why so many sibeh cheena lang smoke in china. Can someone tell them their cigarrette is really sibeh smelly??)

Happiness (Malaga Trip) and Sickness

Happiness:

I was with Jay’s incentive trip to Spain Malaga for 6 days 5 nights. It is an owesome trip. The trip totally open my eyesight about Europe countries. Before this trip, I thought Europe is English speaking country. Finally I realized I am wrong. They speak everything from French, Germany, Spanish, Arabian, but only very little English. So a lot of body language was used in the trip.

Someone told me Spanish is the most speaking language in the world, not English. I wonder is this true or not. And, I think the Spanish language is very beautiful. I don’t mind to learn this language at all.

Malaga is a very beautiful city, got the Mediterranean sea, beautiful flowery buildings, churches all around, and Picasso Museum! I never know Picasso was from Spain until this trip. And we were debating whether to join the day tour to the Picasso Museum because both Jay and I are not a museum-person. Anyway, I am glad we make a correct choice. It was without regret to learn so much about Picasso in the trip! And there was a joke when visiting the Picasso museum:

Tour guide (he is Spanish, but speak good English, but still sometimes I cannot quite understand his English): “I want to tell you all that Picasso started using cubism (pubic-ism) in his drawing starting from 19xx. Can you see the cubism from this art? Beautiful isn’t it?” At that time, he was pointing at a piece of Art where it showed the woman’s private part (Picasso pieces have a lot of women’s element. He has 4 focuses in his art: Woman, Family, Friends, Sex&Death), and so I thought he was saying pubic-ism. You know, pubic as in pubic hair….

So I was enjoying his art and kept remembering he uses a lot of pubic-ism in his drawing. Until few minutes later, I finally understand he was referring to cubism (cubic, as in 3D drawing). I was chuckling to myself. And I told this joke to Jay, he said I am so hamsap. Hahaha..

Anyway, I enjoyed very much about Picasso Art. I love the part of his drawing where one face can have more than one interpretation. Such a genius of using cubism. And, he has so many women. He is quite hamsap too.

We also went to Ronda, where the ancient bridge is there, and also the bullring is there. However, due to time constraint, we didn’t get a chance to see the bull-fightL Tour guide (his name is Miguel, quite a funny man) said, “don’t feel frustrated, come back again.” Wah… he must not have understand it is not easy for us Asian to go to Europe. The flight time was so long. Sit until pet pet also pain lah.

I also enjoyed the Malaga city tour itself very much. We went into a souvenoir shop, where this uncle is so friendly. He is old, and very enthusiastic to show us his stuff. We were already late for group lunch, and yet at the same time we feel so reluctant to tell him stop showing us stuff because we are late. Anyway, he is a good man, even though we can’t seem to understand each other very much – it takes us more than 30 seconds to explain we looking for chocolate. Hahaha… body languages were used, including I gei-gei put something into my mouth and chewed and give him a thumbs up, then only he knows we are referring to chocolate.

the resort that we were staying. It was a lovely resort. Each house was different from the other, and very homy feel.

This is the mosque just next to our resort. During certain hour, can hear the sembahyang sound very clearly.

Some other beautiful pictures I took:

Sickness:

I am still well in the first 2 days I reached Shanghai. Then my throat was suddenly so painful when I woke up on Sunday morning. I thought I had sore-throat from cold. So I took a lot of cold medicine. Then Monday morning, each saliva-swallow process was so torturing. It was so painful. And I have fever. But because I already took 5 days off last week for vacation, it really isn’t that nice to tell my company I am sick and can’t come in for work on a Monday right? So I just tell them I need to go to see doc and be in office later. As usual, morning I cannot catch any cab. So I took subway to a more popular station where there is cab so I can take the cab from there to the hospital. I tell you, I almost fainted in the subway. As time goes by, I feel some stars are dancing in front of my eyes. The feeling is horrible. It’s like when your handphone is low on battery, you so afraid it will suddenly just went dead. I was so worried if I fainted in the subway, who is going to rescue me? Superman as in the movie?? Or what? So I prayed and prayed, finally it was that stop, and I got off with hand shaking. I am safe! Once I got off the subway, the fresh air make me feel better, and I slowly walked out to the street to catch a cab.

Doc said something in my throat was swollen. No wonder so painful lah. She gave me some medicine. She also said if it does not subside 3 days later, must come back see her. She said it in a very serious tone. I actually got worried a bit. From her tone, can see that this sickness can be quite serious if not treated immediately.

So, I dragged my fevered body, aching head and painful throat to office to finish my hundreds email.

The painful level got better today. I hope it will recover soon. Deep down inside me, I very worried it was a small fishbone that I accidentally swallow in Spain, on Apr 16th. But I don’t feel any uncomfortable on 17th onwards. Could it be that stupid bone? I swear to God again I am not going to have another fish in my life. This time I mean it. My throat is so bone-friendly I am so sick of it. Blardy throat!

Once again, I realized health is very important. So important that nothing else matters anymore when you are sick, even if it is just flu or diarrhea. My sister lately also have some health issue. I am praying hard she will get through again this round. My little sister is much stronger than I mentally, for this I really respect her. The same kind of thing she is going though if happen to me, I don’t think I can take it the way she is handling it. So to my sister I want to say “hang on there, and I hope you get well soon my dearest sister. And I wish no more torture stuff will land upon you after you pass through this obstacle!”

I love you Ah Mi. Be tough and good ok?

small gas king!

My distributor is so small gas, I feel suffocating working with them!!!! They are all sibeh small woman behavior, small small thing also think it is after them and then angry at me. tiu nia sing. Beijingnese again!

Help!!!!!!!!!~~~~~~~

Can you stop talking?

I realized I cannot work with 2 types of people, coz as soon as they start talking, I am immediately turned off. If they talk longer in their local slang, I feel so agitated I swear I can slap them if my self-control is low.

First type is Beijing-nese, or people from north part of China that speaks in those northern tone. I feel so tired everytime I listen to them talking. The tone is very "circling", a bit like ah-neh-neh type, I feel I can die immediately. And, they love talking. The non-stop sense is very killing me.

Second type is, French whose English is poor. Their frenchie tone, can kill me too. And 50% of the time while they are talking, I totally don't know what they talking about. Arrrghh... torturing.

Today, is my not-so-lucky day. The above 2 types of people, called me at different period of time.

They are so persistent, although my tone (over the phone) is already showing them I very busy (including typing while talking to them, drinking water and making the gulping sound, kept on "eh-hem.. hmm.." all the while they talking), they still talk, and talk, and talk...

Men really do not listen to us carefully....

Last night, something happened, and it proves to me again, Men are from Mars...

It started like this:

Hubby: "I am going to do laundry tonight, but Black colors only tonight. You have any black dress and shirts want to wash?"

Me: "YES! Wait for me, I go get it!"

So, I throw a total of 5 black shirts to the laundry bag, and continue my cooking session in the kitchen.

After 2 hours later... hubby went to take out the clothes from the washing machine and hang them.

Me:" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! WHY YOU WASH YOUR TOWEL??!!! It's not black!!! And it got a lot of mao-mao that will stick onto the black shirt!!!!!!"

Hubby kept quiet, coz he dulan I yelled so loud.

Look lah, I yelled because I hate all the mao-mao stick onto the black color clothes. They are so irritating! Actually, nowadays I try not to buy black color clothes because they are so easy to get sticked by the mao-mao... eee...

So, proves again, Men really do not listen to us carefully. His towel is not black color. It's blue.... and with mao-mao!!! >_<

>_<

Huangshan Trip #1

We, 6 of us, went to Huangshan over the weekend. It was a short 2 days trip, by bus (6 hours through, another 6 hours forth). P.M. asked us how was the trip today, and here's what Winston replied in the email "foggy, raining, tired, and dai-D (Big 2)". Hahaha...

Yah, it was very foggy, and raining. 1st day was practically wasted. We reached there around 1.30pm, had lunch and by the time we get on the cable car to go up there (yah, we lazy ass, not climbing up. But how to climb? It takes 5 hours to climb!!), it was around 3pm something. Checked in the hotel, dumped the heavy back pack, and it started raining so heavily outside!! So, our Dai D session started at 4pm til 6pm (dinner time). Luckily we came in a group. If not, what to do in hotel besides you watch me, I watch u?

We must say the hotel standard is much better than what we thought and imagined. It was small, but cozy, and clean (esp carpet and toilet). I hate to say this, but this hotel is much much much better than the 1088 yuan Zhao Long Hotel!!

1st night, was Dai D session til 11pm again. Outside hak-ma-ma, nothing else to do also. But, a lot of campers camped outside the hotel. I don't know why they can do that. But most importantly, I cannot understand how they stand the wind and rain at night. It was so windy at night, I can hear the "woo woo" wind sound on and off. Poor them.

At 5am, those campers already making noises. Sunrise time is around 5.49am, according to the hotel forecast system. Hotel also implicated the chances of seeing the Sun rise was 40% that day. Of course lah, so foggy and rainy. I was a bit disappointed. But I still woke up Babe to go to window see whether the sky is clear or not at 5.00am. He went to window unwillingly, open up the curtain, and said "i can't see anything honey.." I said, "did u put on your glasses?" Babe replied, "honey, I mean it is very foggy, I can't see anything!". So we went to sleep again.

At 5.20am, my alarm snoozed again. I was hoping the wind blow the fog away in the past 20 minutes. So I ask babe go see if the sky was cleared. My babe murmured "why don't u go see yourself. so unfair". I just pushed him off the bed, he no choice, go to window and replied, "i still can't see anything honey"...

So, I was indeed disappointed. Sleep until 6am. Can't sleep no more coz the campers outside were really very noisy. And got tour-guide speaking through the microphone too, "bla bla bla". WOW, they sure wake up early and climb few stair case (from another hotel I suspect) to reach here to try thier luck to see sunrise. I picked this hotel because i know we can see sunrise just outside the hotel. Haha... smart or not? But luck was not on my side lah, can't see no sun that day at all, don't even hoping for sun-rise.

But we were lucky, the next morning was not raining anymore! But fog was still on and off there, so we managed to snap a few pictures when the fog was thin. And climbed some stair case to cover some tourist spot. Jay and I really enjoyed the view even though it is quite foggy. We plan to come back here again, soon! (That's why I put the title of this post as "Huangshan Trip #1, coz #2, 3, 4 is definitely coming up soon! hehehe)

p/s: one thing we love huangshan is, 95% of the area was NO SMOKING ZONE! Haahhahaa.... the air was so clean! I love it!!!

Cable Car view. Cable car took 15 minutes, 80 rmb. If climb, takes 5 hours.

Just got off cable car.
6 of us (I holding the camera lah. haha) - left to right: Calvin, hubby, Winston, Keng Fei, and Wendy.

See my hubby is so excited. haha..
Can u see different shape of the mountain rocks?? I wonder how they form like this, especially the left first one. Looks like a chestnut.
Campers that camped outside our hotel. I took this picture just from our room's window.
This tree is called "lover tree" wor... can u see it looks like 2 person sticking together:)

Can u see the locks? The lovers come here to lock up the lock, and throw the key down the mountain to signify their love is forever and ever. It's quite not environmental friendly though.

Huangshan -- I love you!!!!

relevancy... differentiator... brand development stage!

I was busy this week, yah... again.

Anyway, we were in the meeting room, coz the big guai boss is here, and we have media review. Yes, they want to review if the money spent is worth the sell-through results we have or not.

For easy reference sake, let's say we have 3 brands in the company. Each is called Brand A, B, and C respectively.

Brand A is the biggest sales contribution. So, TVC (tv commercial) is doing great job. Brand B, was second big, until 2 years ago, the brand I handling (Brand C) has overtake it's second position. Muahahhaa... happy.

Anyway, we were discussing why the TVC of Brand B generates more than 100% of M/S ratio. more than 30% is pretty bad already. Imagine Brand B has the figures like more than 100% in some of the tv commercial.

The Brand B in charge person was sitting beside me.

She was reading some ppt, I key poh, I read too. It was just some Marketing Slides from somethin like text book material. Talking about brand relevancy, consumer experience, and brand development in a market. Something like that. She even turned to me and ask how do I pronounce "differentiator". I was thinking, you having exam later is it?

Guess what happened in next 20 minutes? I was so shocked, I have to calm myself down if not others will see my panic look. She started to comment! And the words that coming from her mouth, was those terms that she was "revising" minutes ago!!!

"Brand B might not be ready for TVC, because, the consumer don't feel the relevancy with the product, and they cannot experience the ownership, bla bla bla, and the years that this brand has entered into this market is very early, we cannot compare to U.S., bla bla bla... differentiator bla bla bla (i cannot remember what she said about differentiator).

Anyway, I am shocked. These chinese people, first of all, really is a great pretender. They can open up a text book kinda ppt and start revising the terms, and start bull-shiting. They can be thicked face too, got people force u with a gun meh? if you know about this "relevancy or not relevancy" at the first place, then why still go tvc?

I learnt a lesson yesterday. Bull-shitter is every where. And, they look like just anyone of us.

I really respect her yesterday! Coz after her "text book terms" comment, the boss simply did not chase after her why her M/S ratio is so high. The boss just concluded maybe the big chunk of money she has should give to Brand C to further brand develop. (hahahaha...)

"nah!!"

I every morning watch 15 minutes of news before go do my "private business".

Anyway, this morning, the news have something which shocks me -- more than half of the teenagers in Shanghai nowadays think that "honesty" is stupid and worthless!

I was showing middle finger at the TV screen - "nah!"

Come to think of it, no wonder any thing in China also can be fake (e.g. eggs, oranges, chopstick, water, lipstick, etc etc I can go on and on for days with the list), because honesty, is STUPID! haha...

Sigh...

The earth is sick - still cold in April, and snowed so many days in Shanghai this year.
BUT
The people is sick too...

HELP~~~~~~~~
